Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organisation licensed and registered in Türkiye (registration number 27-15-175). We work with Syrian refugees, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities and their families. Because we serve vulnerable groups and hold personal data in the course of our work, we take data protection seriously. This notice explains how we handle your data when you use our website or get in touch with us.

2. What data we collect

We only collect what is necessary. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

Contact details (name, email, phone, address) when you write to us, subscribe to our newsletter, or get in touch about donations or partnerships.
Information you provide when applying for jobs or tenders we publish.

Sened works with refugees, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities and their families. We treat all beneficiary and sensitive data with the highest care and confidentiality, in line with humanitarian principles and applicable law.

5. Legal basis and how long we keep data

We process your data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests (e.g. operating the website and communicating with you), or where required by Turkish or other applicable law. We keep your data only for as long as necessary for these purposes or as required by law, then we delete or anonymise it.

You have the right to access your data, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where it applies. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Under Turkish Law on Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), these rights apply where the law so provides.
