About SENED
SENED is an independent non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with the number 27-15-175. SENED was established by a group of humanitarian and social activists in responding to the Syrians suffer since 2011. SENED has become specialized in working with and supporting people with special needs since 2015 due to the realization of the tremendous tragedy that people with special needs live in Syria through periodic visits to their places.
Job Purpose
o Disability Inclusion Technical Coordinator will use their in-depth contextual understanding, technical and practical expertise, and relationship building skills to define and deliver our strategic ambition for Disability Inclusion in Turkey.
o The role will lead strategy development and the technical design and implementation of high quality programmes that deliver change for children and families with disabilities in both emergency and development programming. The role supports national advocacy and influencing, while driving strategic partnerships for new business development. It supports the design and implementation of disability inclusive monitoring and evaluation systems to demonstrate impact, while sharing learning across our programmes, teams and partners. The role will work closely with operations colleagues and with partners, building their capacity and building and building their inclusive policies and provide needs training for their staff
Key Activities/Tasks/Duties
o Assists stakeholders to assess their organizational disability inclusive development capacity
o Strengthens the disability inclusive development capacity of partner organizations through the provision of training, as well as ongoing mentoring and support.
o Provides specific advice on disability inclusion within development programs across a range of sector
o Contributes to monitoring, evaluation and learning activities relating to disability inclusive development.
o Contribute to and participate in wider organizational initiatives and events, representing the inclusive development department
o Ensure technical support to projects in line with the global technical frameworks and standards on his sectorial scope
o Regularly traveling outside of Adana
o Assisting in identifying, developing and delivering project proposals and business development ideas
Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):
Essential
Bachelor Degree in Psychology or Psychological Counseling.
At least 5 years’ experience of leading the design and implementation of humanitarian and development Disability Inclusive programmes
Experience of working directly with children with different types of disabilities and their families.
Strong understanding of the Disability Rights sector, policy priorities and the situation for adults and children with disabilities in Turkey and internationally in both humanitarian and development contexts
Experience of strategy development and planning to promote and enhance Disability Inclusion
Experience of context, capacity and policy analysis, and influencing and advocacy at regional/international level in order to hold duty bearers to account to realize children’s rights and rights of adults and children with disabilities. Familiarity with Disability Situation Analysis, Barrier Analysis, CRPD monitoring and Disability Data.
Significant experience in training, capacity building, and mentoring communities and organizations on Disability Inclusion Across different thematic areas such as health and nutrition, child protection, education, social protection, early intervention etc.
Fluent in Turkish and high level of Turkish writing skills.
Intermediate skills in the English language.
Desirable
Master’s degree in Disability Studies or related degree in International Development, Education, Psychology, Sociology or related area.
Basic skills in the Arabic language.
